STANDING ORDER

To

All District Collectors,

Subject: The maintenance of fire safety in a high-rise building by owners of a high-rise building under the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act, 2007, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act, 2007 (Maharashtra Act 3 of 2007), the Information Technology Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the maintenance of fire safety in a high-rise building by owners of a high-rise building.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a high-rise building carrying on the maintenance of fire safety in a high-rise building shall make an application in Form E to the District Authority within three days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The District Collector shall ensure that plan is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Authority within three days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information Technology Department, Government of Maharashtra.
