OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The cultivation of land by farmers under the Karnataka Co-operative Societies Act, 1959, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Agriculture Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the cultivation of land by farmers is to be regulated under the Karnataka Co-operative Societies Act, 1959.

2. The matter has been examined. Every farmer carrying on the cultivation of land shall make an application in Form B to the Director of Agriculture within seven days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the cultivation of land is undertaken, and the Director of Agriculture shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Agriculture Department, Government of Karnataka.
