STANDING ORDER

To

All Data Protection Officers,

Subject: The provision of cloud computing services by cloud service providers under the Kerala Police Act, 2011, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Police Act, 2011 (Kerala Act 8 of 2011), the Ports Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the provision of cloud computing services by cloud service providers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every cloud service provider carrying on the provision of cloud computing services shall make an application in Form H to the Data Protection Board within seven days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Data Protection Officer shall ensure that notice is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Data Protection Board within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Kerala.
