OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The letting of premises by landlords under the Maharashtra Slum Areas (Improvement, Clearance and Redevelopment) Act, 1971, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Environment Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the letting of premises by landlords is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Slum Areas (Improvement, Clearance and Redevelopment) Act, 1971.

2. The matter has been examined. Every landlord carrying on the letting of premises shall make an application in Form E to the Competent Authority within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the letting of premises is undertaken, and the Competent Authority shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Environment Department, Government of Maharashtra.
