STANDING ORDER

To

All Patwaris,

Subject: The holding of Government land on lease by lessees of Government land under the Puducherry Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1973, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Puducherry Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1973 (Puducherry Act 9 of 1973), the Tourism Department, Government of Puducherry hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of Government land on lease by lessees of Government land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every lessee of Government land carrying on the holding of Government land on lease shall make an application in Form 8 to the Settlement Officer within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Patwari shall ensure that survey number is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Settlement Officer within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Puducherry.
