OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The generation of electricity from solar energy by owners of a solar power plant under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Law Department, Government of Gujarat on the manner in which the generation of electricity from solar energy by owners of a solar power plant is to be regulated under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a solar power plant carrying on the generation of electricity from solar energy shall make an application in Form VI to the Ombudsman within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the generation of electricity from solar energy is undertaken, and the Ombudsman shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Gujarat.
