OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The execution of canal works by contractors for canal works under the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Act, 2002, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Kerala on the manner in which the execution of canal works by contractors for canal works is to be regulated under the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Act, 2002.

2. The matter has been examined. Every contractor for canal works carrying on the execution of canal works shall make an application in Form G to the River Basin Authority within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the execution of canal works is undertaken, and the River Basin Authority shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Kerala.
