STANDING ORDER

To

All Waqf Officers,

Subject: The performance of rituals in a temple by archakas under the Uttar Pradesh Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Act, 1983, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Act, 1983 (Uttar Pradesh Act 29 of 1983), the Agriculture Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the performance of rituals in a temple by archakas.

2. The matter has been examined. Every archaka carrying on the performance of rituals in a temple shall make an application in Form G to the Commissioner of Endowments within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Waqf Officer shall ensure that register of trusts is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Commissioner of Endowments within one hundred and eighty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Agriculture Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
