STANDING ORDER

To

All Naib Tahsildars,

Subject: The cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers under the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953 (Punjab Act 10 of 1953), the Home Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every sharecropper carrying on the cultivation of land as a sharecropper shall make an application in Form 1 to the Sub-Divisional Officer within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. The Naib Tahsildar shall ensure that demand notice is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Sub-Divisional Officer within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Punjab.
