STANDING ORDER

To

All Canal Officers,

Subject: The operation of a ferry by operators of a ferry under the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Act, 2002, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Act, 2002 (Kerala Act 19 of 2002), the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a ferry by operators of a ferry.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a ferry carrying on the operation of a ferry shall make an application in Form C to the Government of Kerala within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Canal Officer shall ensure that register of users is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Kerala within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Kerala.
