STANDING ORDER
To
All Revenue Inspectors,
Subject: The finding of treasure by finders of treasure under the Karnataka Land Reforms Act, 1962, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Land Reforms Act, 1962 (Karnataka Act 10 of 1962), the Revenue Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the finding of treasure by finders of treasure.
2. The matter has been examined. Every finder of treasure carrying on the finding of treasure shall make an application in Form 4 to the District Registrar within three hundred and sixty-five days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.
3. The Revenue Inspector shall ensure that interest in land is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Registrar within three hundred and sixty-five days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Karnataka.
