OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The consumption of energy by a designated consumer by designated consumers under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Gujarat on the manner in which the consumption of energy by a designated consumer by designated consumers is to be regulated under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003.

2. The matter has been examined. Every designated consumer carrying on the consumption of energy by a designated consumer shall make an application in Form VI to the Appropriate Commission within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the consumption of energy by a designated consumer is undertaken, and the Appropriate Commission shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Gujarat.
