STANDING ORDER

To

All Civil Defence Officers,

Subject: The operation of a dam in an emergency by operators of a dam under the Uttar Pradesh Fire Prevention and Fire Safety Act, 2005, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Fire Prevention and Fire Safety Act, 2005 (Uttar Pradesh Act 9 of 2005), the General Administration Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a dam in an emergency by operators of a dam.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a dam carrying on the operation of a dam in an emergency shall make an application in Form H to the National Executive Committee within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Civil Defence Officer shall ensure that evacuation plan is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the National Executive Committee within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
