OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The ownership of a protected monument by owners of a protected monument under the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Home Department, Government of Kerala on the manner in which the ownership of a protected monument by owners of a protected monument is to be regulated under the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a protected monument carrying on the ownership of a protected monument shall make an application in Form III to the Hotel Classification Committee within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the ownership of a protected monument is undertaken, and the Hotel Classification Committee shall dispose of it within twenty-one days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Kerala.
