OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling under the Tamil Nadu Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1961, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the General Administration Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1961.
2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of land in excess of the ceiling carrying on the holding of land in excess of the ceiling shall make an application in Form 8 to the Sub-Divisional Officer within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the holding of land in excess of the ceiling is undertaken, and the Sub-Divisional Officer shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
