STANDING ORDER

To

All Revenue Inspectors,

Subject: The sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land under the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953 (Punjab Act 10 of 1953), the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a well on Government land carrying on the sinking of a well on Government land shall make an application in Form 2 to the Settlement Officer within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Revenue Inspector shall ensure that holding is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Settlement Officer within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Punjab.
