OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The exhibition of films by exhibitors under the Tamil Nadu Exhibition of Films on Television Screen through Video Cassette Recorders (Regulation) Act, 1984, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Excise Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the exhibition of films by exhibitors is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Exhibition of Films on Television Screen through Video Cassette Recorders (Regulation) Act, 1984.

2. The matter has been examined. Every exhibitor carrying on the exhibition of films shall make an application in Form VII to the Government of Tamil Nadu within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the exhibition of films is undertaken, and the Government of Tamil Nadu shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Excise Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
