OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The carriage of goods for hire by owners of a goods carriage under the Kerala Motor Transport Workers Welfare Fund Act, 1985, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Law Department, Government of Kerala on the manner in which the carriage of goods for hire by owners of a goods carriage is to be regulated under the Kerala Motor Transport Workers Welfare Fund Act, 1985.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a goods carriage carrying on the carriage of goods for hire shall make an application in Form 1 to the Transport Commissioner within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the carriage of goods for hire is undertaken, and the Transport Commissioner shall dispose of it within fourteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Kerala.
