OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The execution of electrical installation work by electrical contractors under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Finance Department, Government of Gujarat on the manner in which the execution of electrical installation work by electrical contractors is to be regulated under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003.

2. The matter has been examined. Every electrical contractor carrying on the execution of electrical installation work shall make an application in Form IV to the Chief Electrical Inspector within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the execution of electrical installation work is undertaken, and the Chief Electrical Inspector shall dispose of it within twenty-one days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Gujarat.
