STANDING ORDER

To

All Superintendents of the Home,

Subject: The holding of a beauty contest by organisers of a beauty contest under the Andhra Pradesh Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1988, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Andhra Pradesh Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1988 (Andhra Pradesh Act 10 of 1988), the Tourism Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of a beauty contest by organisers of a beauty contest.

2. The matter has been examined. Every organiser of a beauty contest carrying on the holding of a beauty contest shall make an application in Form III to the Commission within seven days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Superintendent of the Home shall ensure that institution is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Commission within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
