STANDING ORDER

To

All Station House Officers,

Subject: The running of a cyber cafe by operators of a cyber cafe under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937 (Tamil Nadu Act 10 of 1937), the Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a cyber cafe by operators of a cyber cafe.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a cyber cafe carrying on the running of a cyber cafe shall make an application in Form V to the Licensing Authority within seven days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Station House Officer shall ensure that weapon is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Licensing Authority within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
