STANDING ORDER

To

All Registrars of Inland Vessels,

Subject: The plying of an inland vessel by owners of an inland vessel under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981 (Gujarat Act 30 of 1981), the Ports Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the plying of an inland vessel by owners of an inland vessel.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of an inland vessel carrying on the plying of an inland vessel shall make an application in Form 8 to the Registrar of Ships within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Registrar of Inland Vessels shall ensure that ship recycling plan is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar of Ships within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Gujarat.
