STANDING ORDER

To

All Block Development Officers,

Subject: The holding of a fair by licensees of a fair under the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973 (West Bengal Act 41 of 1973), the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of a fair by licensees of a fair.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee of a fair carrying on the holding of a fair shall make an application in Form 6 to the Director of Panchayats within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Block Development Officer shall ensure that building is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director of Panchayats within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of West Bengal.
