STANDING ORDER

To

All Executive Engineers,

Subject: The sinking of a tube well by owners of a tube well under the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Act, 2002, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Act, 2002 (Kerala Act 19 of 2002), the Excise Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sinking of a tube well by owners of a tube well.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a tube well carrying on the sinking of a tube well shall make an application in Form A to the Ground Water Authority within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Executive Engineer shall ensure that permit is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Ground Water Authority within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Excise Department, Government of Kerala.
