OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The publication of news on a digital platform by publishers of news on a digital platform under the Karnataka Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1964, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the publication of news on a digital platform by publishers of news on a digital platform is to be regulated under the Karnataka Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1964.

2. The matter has been examined. Every publisher of news on a digital platform carrying on the publication of news on a digital platform shall make an application in Form III to the Broadcasting Authority within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the publication of news on a digital platform is undertaken, and the Broadcasting Authority shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Karnataka.
