STANDING ORDER

To

All Panchayat Inspectors,

Subject: The running of a village bus stand by licensees of a village bus stand under the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973 (West Bengal Act 41 of 1973), the Law Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a village bus stand by licensees of a village bus stand.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee of a village bus stand carrying on the running of a village bus stand shall make an application in Form 8 to the District Panchayat within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. The Panchayat Inspector shall ensure that muster roll is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Panchayat within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of West Bengal.
