OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The placement of domestic workers by placement agencies under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Woman Act, 2002, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the placement of domestic workers by placement agencies is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Woman Act, 2002.

2. The matter has been examined. Every placement agency carrying on the placement of domestic workers shall make an application in Form V to the Commission within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the placement of domestic workers is undertaken, and the Commission shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
