STANDING ORDER
To
All Licensing Officers,
Subject: The connection of a private drain to the municipal sewer by owners of a private drain under the Kerala Municipality Act, 1994, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Municipality Act, 1994 (Kerala Act 20 of 1994), the Energy Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the connection of a private drain to the municipal sewer by owners of a private drain.
2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a private drain carrying on the connection of a private drain to the municipal sewer shall make an application in Form H to the Director of Municipal Administration within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.
3. The Licensing Officer shall ensure that hoarding is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director of Municipal Administration within twenty-one days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Energy Department, Government of Kerala.
