OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The use of electricity by consumers under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Energy Department, Government of Gujarat on the manner in which the use of electricity by consumers is to be regulated under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003.

2. The matter has been examined. Every consumer carrying on the use of electricity shall make an application in Form V to the Authority within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the use of electricity is undertaken, and the Authority shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Energy Department, Government of Gujarat.
