OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of an old age home by keepers of an old age home under the Maharashtra Regulation of Marriage Bureaus and Registration of Marriages Act, 1998, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the running of an old age home by keepers of an old age home is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Regulation of Marriage Bureaus and Registration of Marriages Act, 1998.

2. The matter has been examined. Every keeper of an old age home carrying on the running of an old age home shall make an application in Form VII to the District Court within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of an old age home is undertaken, and the District Court shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra.
