OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The working of a brick kiln by owners of a brick kiln under the Karnataka Forest Act, 1964, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Environment Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the working of a brick kiln by owners of a brick kiln is to be regulated under the Karnataka Forest Act, 1964.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a brick kiln carrying on the working of a brick kiln shall make an application in Form III to the Government of Karnataka within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the working of a brick kiln is undertaken, and the Government of Karnataka shall dispose of it within one hundred and eighty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Environment Department, Government of Karnataka.
