All Inspectors of Telegraphs,
Subject: Dealing in wireless equipment by dealers in wireless equipment under the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act, 1997, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act, 1997 (24 of 1997), the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India hereby directs
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to dealing in wireless equipment by dealers in wireless equipment.
2. The matter has been examined. Every dealer in wireless equipment carrying on dealing in wireless equipment shall make an application in Form G to the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.
3. The Inspector of Telegraphs shall ensure that spectrum is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal within ninety days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this direction may be brought to the notice of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.
