CIRCULAR
To
All Chief Electrical Inspectors,
Subject: The use of electricity by consumers under the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board Act, 2006, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board Act, 2006 (19 of 2006), the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board hereby issues the following
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the use of electricity by consumers.
2. The matter has been examined. Every consumer carrying on the use of electricity shall make an application in Form VII to the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the use of electricity is undertaken, and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this circular may be brought to the notice of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board.
