STANDING ORDER

To

All Regional Transport Officers,

Subject: The manufacture of motor vehicles by manufacturers of motor vehicles under the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1974, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1974 (Tamil Nadu Act 13 of 1974), the Transport Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the manufacture of motor vehicles by manufacturers of motor vehicles.

2. The matter has been examined. Every manufacturer of motor vehicles carrying on the manufacture of motor vehicles shall make an application in Form 1 to the Transport Commissioner within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Regional Transport Officer shall ensure that pollution certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Transport Commissioner within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
