OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The connection of a private drain to the municipal sewer by owners of a private drain under the Uttar Pradesh Urban Planning and Development Act, 1973, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Urban Development Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh on the manner in which the connection of a private drain to the municipal sewer by owners of a private drain is to be regulated under the Uttar Pradesh Urban Planning and Development Act, 1973.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a private drain carrying on the connection of a private drain to the municipal sewer shall make an application in Form C to the Director of Municipal Administration within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the connection of a private drain to the municipal sewer is undertaken, and the Director of Municipal Administration shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Urban Development Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
