OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of a shelter home by shelter homes under the Andhra Pradesh Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1988, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Home Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh on the manner in which the running of a shelter home by shelter homes is to be regulated under the Andhra Pradesh Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1988.

2. The matter has been examined. Every shelter home carrying on the running of a shelter home shall make an application in Form VIII to the Commission within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a shelter home is undertaken, and the Commission shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
