STANDING ORDER
To
All Deputies Commissioner of Excise,
Subject: The import of liquor into the State by importers of liquor under the Goa Excise Duty Act, 1964, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Goa Excise Duty Act, 1964 (Goa Act 5 of 1964), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Goa hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the import of liquor into the State by importers of liquor.
2. The matter has been examined. Every importer of liquor carrying on the import of liquor into the State shall make an application in Form B to the Deputy Commissioner of Excise within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.
3. The Deputy Commissioner of Excise shall ensure that excise seal is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Deputy Commissioner of Excise within fifteen days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Goa.
