OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The slaughter of animals by keepers of a slaughter house under the Gujarat Town Planning and Urban Development Act, 1976, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Urban Development Department, Government of Gujarat on the manner in which the slaughter of animals by keepers of a slaughter house is to be regulated under the Gujarat Town Planning and Urban Development Act, 1976.

2. The matter has been examined. Every keeper of a slaughter house carrying on the slaughter of animals shall make an application in Form E to the Corporation within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the slaughter of animals is undertaken, and the Corporation shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Urban Development Department, Government of Gujarat.
