STANDING ORDER

To

All Fertiliser Inspectors,

Subject: The sponsoring of contract farming by contract farming sponsors under the Punjab Agricultural Produce Markets Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Agricultural Produce Markets Act, 1961 (Punjab Act 23 of 1961), the Revenue Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sponsoring of contract farming by contract farming sponsors.

2. The matter has been examined. Every contract farming sponsor carrying on the sponsoring of contract farming shall make an application in Form D to the Registrar of Co-operative Societies within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Fertiliser Inspector shall ensure that seed is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar of Co-operative Societies within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Punjab.
