STANDING ORDER

All Press Registrars,

Subject: The operation of a community radio station by community radio stations under the Karnataka Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1964, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1964 (Karnataka Act 23 of 1964), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a community radio station by community radio stations.

2. The matter has been examined. Every community radio station carrying on the operation of a community radio station shall make an application in Form III to the Broadcasting Authority within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Press Registrar shall ensure that advertisement is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Broadcasting Authority within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Karnataka.
