OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of a cold storage by operators of a cold storage under the Punjab Agricultural Produce Markets Act, 1961, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Environment Department, Government of Punjab on the manner in which the running of a cold storage by operators of a cold storage is to be regulated under the Punjab Agricultural Produce Markets Act, 1961.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a cold storage carrying on the running of a cold storage shall make an application in Form D to the Director of Agriculture within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a cold storage is undertaken, and the Director of Agriculture shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Environment Department, Government of Punjab.
