OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The repair of ships by ship repairers under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Tourism Department, Government of Gujarat on the manner in which the repair of ships by ship repairers is to be regulated under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981.

2. The matter has been examined. Every ship repairer carrying on the repair of ships shall make an application in Form 8 to the Conservator of the Port within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the repair of ships is undertaken, and the Conservator of the Port shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Gujarat.
