STANDING ORDER

To

All District Education Officers,

Subject: The transport of school children by operators of a school bus under the Karnataka Education Act, 1995, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Education Act, 1995 (Karnataka Act 1 of 1995), the Finance Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the transport of school children by operators of a school bus.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a school bus carrying on the transport of school children shall make an application in Form A to the School Tribunal within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. The District Education Officer shall ensure that mark sheet is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the School Tribunal within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Karnataka.
