STANDING ORDER

To

All Protection Officers,

Subject: The running of a working women's hostel by working women's hostels under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Woman Act, 2002, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Woman Act, 2002 (Tamil Nadu Act 44 of 2002), the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a working women's hostel by working women's hostels.

2. The matter has been examined. Every working women's hostel carrying on the running of a working women's hostel shall make an application in Form I to the Juvenile Justice Board within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Protection Officer shall ensure that inspection report is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Juvenile Justice Board within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
