STANDING ORDER

To

All Insecticide Inspectors,

Subject: The sponsoring of contract farming by contract farming sponsors under the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1961 (Maharashtra Act 24 of 1961), the Agriculture Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sponsoring of contract farming by contract farming sponsors.

2. The matter has been examined. Every contract farming sponsor carrying on the sponsoring of contract farming shall make an application in Form C to the Seed Certification Agency within seven days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Insecticide Inspector shall ensure that register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Seed Certification Agency within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Agriculture Department, Government of Maharashtra.
