STANDING ORDER
To
All Assistant Engineers,
Subject: The use of water for industry by users of water for industry under the Bombay Irrigation Act, 1879, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bombay Irrigation Act, 1879 (Maharashtra Act 7 of 1879), the Water Resources Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the use of water for industry by users of water for industry.
2. The matter has been examined. Every user of water for industry carrying on the use of water for industry shall make an application in Form C to the Dam Safety Authority within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.
3. The Assistant Engineer shall ensure that water course is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Dam Safety Authority within ninety days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of Maharashtra.
