STANDING ORDER

All Panchayat Inspectors,

Subject: The operation of a ferry by operators of a ferry under the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 (Kerala Act 13 of 1994), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a ferry by operators of a ferry.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a ferry carrying on the operation of a ferry shall make an application in Form 8 to the Director of Panchayats within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. The Panchayat Inspector shall ensure that fair is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director of Panchayats within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Kerala.
