OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The survey of land by licensed surveyors under the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Commercial Taxes Department, Government of West Bengal on the manner in which the survey of land by licensed surveyors is to be regulated under the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensed surveyor carrying on the survey of land shall make an application in Form 1 to the Settlement Officer within seven days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the survey of land is undertaken, and the Settlement Officer shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Commercial Taxes Department, Government of West Bengal.
