OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of a private market by operators of a private market under the Chennai City Municipal Corporation Act, 1919, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the running of a private market by operators of a private market is to be regulated under the Chennai City Municipal Corporation Act, 1919.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a private market carrying on the running of a private market shall make an application in Form D to the Town Vending Committee within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a private market is undertaken, and the Town Vending Committee shall dispose of it within fourteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
