STANDING ORDER
To
All Conciliation Officers,
Subject: The engagement of gig workers by platform aggregators under the Bombay Industrial Relations Act, 1946, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bombay Industrial Relations Act, 1946 (Maharashtra Act 11 of 1946), the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the engagement of gig workers by platform aggregators.
2. The matter has been examined. Every platform aggregator carrying on the engagement of gig workers shall make an application in Form VI to the Chief Inspector of Factories within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.
3. The Conciliation Officer shall ensure that notice is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Chief Inspector of Factories within fifteen days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra.
